19/05/2013 Round 3 Of The "Zonta Group" ITT at Yarra Boulevard - A record number of entries saw a big field take on Yarra Boulevard for round 3 of the The "Zonta Group" ITT. Dry roads meant fast times with 3 riders again breaking the magical 30mins barrier. Shane Miller again won A grade, but Oscar Stevenson was only 13 secs behind Shane & is getting faster each race, David Kelly was 3rd. In B grade Sean Wilkeson took the points, 3 secs behind was Glen O'Rourke & Warren Howe finishing 3rd. Special mention to Miranda Griffiths who was not only the first placed female in B grade, but was also the fastest female of the day. In C grade Andrew Gannon who is riding strong took the win, with Craig O'Sullivan 2nd & Robert Larocca 3rd. In D grade Sam McCabe was 1st, with Ben Mavrodis 2nd & Carolyn Fraser 3rd. In E grade Liam Pino was 1st with an impressive ride, with new comer Seda Camgoz Posselt 2nd & David Somers 3rd. In F grade Stuart Tripp was 1st, Mitchell Humbert was 2nd & Lachlan Mushet was 3rd. A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out today & thank you to all the riders, the most pleasing thing to see is so many new faces racing against the clock. Please make sure that you allow yourself enough time to register, pay & warm up. You will need to be at the start line at least 5mins before your allocated start time. 12/05/2013 A message From The Man With The Mullet - Is this your first year of competitive racing?? Even your second?? Are you unsure what to do before, during and after a Jnr Tour?? Well, if you come along Wednesday night (15th) we'll give you some tips and personal anecdotes about how to go about completing Junior Tours, also what parents can expect!! Also, we tell you all about the Camp that CSV is running up at Maldon (31st May till 2nd of June) We will start the night at 6:00pm SHARP!!! We will then do a short ergo session afterwards. 10/05/2013 Metro Road Championships The atmosphere is building as the Castlemaine Cycling Club swings into gear to ensure another enjoyable Metropolitan and Country Road Championship weekend in Harcourt.  Saturday May 18: Victorian Metropolitan Road Championships. Entries close Sunday May 12. Test yourself against some of the the best riders in the Metro area. All events will be conducted on undulating 12km and 56km circuits.
10/05/2013 Winter Track Racing Starts this Saturday 11th May 2013 @ DISC. Racing starts 4:30pm Rego from 3.30pm with track open for warm-up from 4pm. Entry Fee $20 A-D Graded Elite/Masters /J19/J17 – Men & Women.  Minimum of four races per night.
A mix of sprint and endurance track racing providing those new to the sport with the perfect step-up to open racing and providing those more experienced riders with regular competition over the winter.

08/05/2013 Club Ergo Tonight - Club members are welcome to join Ed Osborne at the Club Room tonight Wednesday 8th May for an hour Ergo Session. $5/session or $50/3months. The session starts at 6.30pm promptly so you are expected to be set up by 6.20pm with your ergo & drink bottle ready to go. 25/04/2013 Nutritionist Presentation - Carl Brewer from www.aboc.com.au has orgainised a presentation by Steph Lowe http://www.thennaturalnutritionist.com.au/ this Sunday 28th April at the Darebin International Sport Centre (DISC) starting at 7:15pm 'til 8:15pm. Steph will present a short seminar on eating for cycling without resorting to junk foods. The cost is $10 per person to attend. 21/04/2013 Today's ITT at Yarra Boulevard Sponsored By The "Zonta Group" Round 2 - A big field enjoyed perfect weather conditions (finally!) at Yarra Boulevard for round 2 of the The "Zonta Group" ITT. There were some blistering times with 3 riders in A grade beating the magical 30min barrier & many riders in other grades setting new PB’s which they will have to Try & beat next month. Shane Miller won A Grade with a 29.07, with Jason Spencer 29.44 coming in 2nd & Oscar Stevenson 29.59 coming in 3rd. Thomas Slingsby continues to improve Winning B grade. Peter Quibbell won C grade, whilst Clare Dallat came in 3rd, was the fastest female of the day. Congratulations to Nick Taylor for winning D grade, Sam Bradbury for winning E grade & Jensen Plowright for winning F grade. A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out, without our volunteers we would not be able to put on these sort of races. Also a big thank you to the "Zonta Group" for sponsoring this event. 15/04/2013 2nd Zonta Group ITT This Sunday - The 2nd ITT Series at Yarra Boulevard is on the Sunday 21st April. Reminding everyone that you need to pre-enter by emailing raceentry@bbn.org.au (you should get a confirmation email confirming your entry within a few hours, if not call or SMS Rob on 0401 699 413) Your start time will be posted on the BBN website before 2pm on Saturday the 20th April. 14/04/2013 Annaul General Meeting - The vote for President finishes at 12pm (Noon) on Monday 15th April 2013. If you haven't voted yet, it is recommended you email your vote to the Returning Officer ASAP. The Ballot Paper and Candidate Statements are available for download to the right of this message. The AGM is commencing at 7.30pm on Wednesday night 17th April 2013 at the club rooms. All members are are welcome. The nominations for all other club committee and office bearer positions will also be announced.

04/04/2013 Club Fundraising - The new 2013|2014 Greater Melbourne Entertainment Books are coming soon! Contact Blackburn Cycling Club to pre-order your new Book today! The books cost $65 each, of which $13 per book sold is donated to our club. There are great deals including discounts for entertainment, accommodation and dining to be found throughout the book. This is a great way to support your club. All revenue generated will be put towards the Rider Development Program which includes clubs having access to DISC on a Friday. In 2013, we will again offer an online ordering process. 28/03/2013 Annaul General Meeting Presidential Vote - Recently both Darryl McClimont and John Nicholson were nominated for Club President. The Candidate Statement form listing in alphabetical order of family name the candidates and the Ballot Paper has been circulated to members via email. If you have not received the above mentioned documents they will be published on the club website shortly or contact the club secretary via email info@bbn.org.au and you will be sent them directly. Information and instructions on how to cast your vote is attached to the Ballot Paper. Voting will close at 12noon Monday 15 April 2013. The result of the ballot will be announced at the AGM on Wednesday 17th April 2013, commencing 7.30pm at the club rooms. All other questions regarding the ballot are to be directed to the Returning Officer Ron Ritchie as detailed on the Ballot Paper.
26/03/2013 Masters Easter Handicap - Saturday 30th March 2013 will be the last scheduled Track Racing event for the season. Special event to be included is the Masters Easter Handicap for both men and women. A minimum of 6 riders is required for each category. If insufficient riders in one category then the men and women's category will be combined. Trophy and prize money on offer to place getters of each Masters Handicap event. Registration from 1pm & Racing starts at 2pm. Normal racing on the day as per Race Calendar. Entry on the day, be there early to warm up and position yourself to view all races.
21/03/2013 AGM Information For Members - The call for nominations for positions on the Committee and Office Bearers of the Blackburn Cycling Club was sent to members and posted on the Clubs website in February 2013. At the close of nominations at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 13 March, 14 nominations had been received by the Returning Officer - 12 for specific committee & office bearer positions and two nominations for President. Those candidates identified as club members on the candidate nomination forms will be declared elected at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 17 April 2013. A ballot will be held for the position of President. A ballot paper will be made available to all members from Monday 25 March 2013. Instructions for voting will also be provided. Voting will close at 12noon Monday 15 April 2013. The candidates will be listed on the ballot paper in alphabetical order of family name. A candidate statement from each will be forwarded to members to consider. Only those members 15 years of age and above as of 13 March 2013 may vote. Memberships after this date will not be eligible to vote. Any questions relating to this process leading up to the 25/03/13, contact the Club Secretary. See details listed under the Contact Tab.
17/03/2013 Today's ITT at Yarra Boulevard Sponsored By The "Zonta Group" Round 1 - 70+ riders braved Melbourne's unpredictable weather & raced in Blackburn's first ITT for the 2013 winter road season. Strong winds, slippery roads & rain made the conditions extremely difficult. Despite these tough conditions the times were fast, a big thanks to all the riders who turned up to race this morning & also thank you to all our volunteers who helped out. Without our volunteers we would not be able to put on these sort of races. Also a big thank you to the "Zonta Group" who once again is sponsoring this popular event. 12/03/2013 Masters' Easter Handicap Sat 30th March 2013 - The Blackburn Masters' Handicap will be run at the East Burwood Rerserve velodrome on 30/03/2013. All masters' are welcome!! Trophy to the Winner. Race program for the day will include; Scratch races for A-F grades, Masters' handicap heats (if necessary), Elimination races A-F grades, Masters' handicap final, Team sprint A-E grades, Masters' elimination - for non-finalists in the handicap. Races other than the Masters' handicap would be open to all riders.

The 2013 Blackburn Cycling Club Winter Racing Season is nearly upon us.The Roaster has been available to download on the website for more than a month. Please check it out so you are able to submit you preferences for DUTIES. Select your targeted events!! We love members to participate in our incredible events, both as riders and as helpers/volunteers. To ensure the BBN events are successful and safe requires a significant number of volunteers, so please email volunteers@bbn.org.au with you preferences as detailed in the download published on the club website.
07/02/2013 Australia Day Event Place Getters - Riders who are entitled to winnings Re: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place getters in any event on the BBNCC Australia Day program are to email info@bbn.org.au with their address or bank details and winnings will be mailed or directly deposited into their repective account. Or you can pick up your winning by coordinating a visit to the BBNCC velodrome with the Club Secretary who will delivery your winnings.
