Saturday 14 May 2016

It was a fabulous sunny morning for our first winter crit race at the METEC Driver Training Centre in Kilsyth. We had a relatively small turnout of 33 riders, but good racing across the 5 senior and junior grades.

The A grade field stayed together for the full hour of racing, apart from an early exit by an uncharacteristically out of form Ross Hamilton. Dave Fitzsimons, Dave Gallaher, James Follacchio and junior track stars Sam Gallagher and Cameron Murphy all spent time off the front but none got far from the group. Jemma Eastwood was also taking it to the senior men's field, putting in some strong attacks on the front. On the last lap Cameron Murphy jumped at the rise and made an immediate gap. Sam Gallaher dropped his chain at just the wrong moment and was left disappointed. Cam kept his head down and maintained the gap all the way to the line for a great win. Next across was Brunswick's James Follacchio, followed by Dave Gallagher.

Jie Li immediately tried to break up the B grade field, initially passing the A grade bunch and then maintaining a strong pace. By the time the B grade bunch bridged the gap, Jie was spent and he was out the back. Simon Arthur, Chris Gardiner, Callum Hopkins and Lachlan Mushet started working turns, but Callum was soon the victim of the fast pace, leaving his three compatriots to race for the win. Chris Gardiner had the legs in the sprint, with Simon Arthur finishing second and Lachlan third.

C grade was blown apart early by some early efforts by Scott Setford, Dean Roberts and Noel Clarkson, leaving some strong J17 and J15 riders in their wake. Scott Setford didn't quite go the distance and it was the wily sprinter Dean Roberts that took the win over criterium rookie, Noel Clarkson.

Our Victorian Hill Climb Champion, Hamish Clarkson, put in a huge solo effort in D grade to stay away from the field in D grade. In the closing laps he was pulled back by Jamie Radford who worked with Hamish until the last lap. There were no prisoners taken in the last lap though, with Jamie clearing off for the win and Hamish following close behind. Third went to an indignant Oscar Gallagher, who will no doubt be out for revenge the next time we see him at METEC.

Our Novice E grade field was dominated by Matt Clarkson, who set about time trialling the entire race. Alex Arthur put in a strong performance to keep Matthew honest and take second place. Isla Johnstone placed third in her first appearance in the novice clinic.

We would like to thank all those who supported the event today. It would be great to see you all out at METEC on the 28th of May (two weeks time) for our next winter crit race and hopefully we can build the numbers across all grades. Thanks to all those who helped run the event, to the ride marshals, to METEC Driver Training Centre (http://www.metec.com.au/) for allowing us to use their facility and to Cycle Link in Bayswater (http://www.cyclelink.com.au/) for providing prizes and for their ongoing support of the Novice program.

Hello, just wanted to let you know that we had a great holiday at Marina de Bolnuevo in September of this year. We flew into Alicante and hired a car from the airport for the short drive to Bolnuevo. The beaches are clean, most of them awarded the Blue Flag. The cafes were great, with paella on the beach a must and managed a trip to the nudist beach there. Very liberating. We also visited the Big Guns, The Roman Mines and the Sand sculptures. Will be returning there again next year. Thanks for reading Niall.

The very first benefit is that you simply get to play online for absolutely at no cost
rather getting apart with your own bucks.
Checking out a couple of well-written reviews
could be the most effective methods to do this.

You actually make it appear really easy together with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something which I think I'd never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely huge for me. I'm taking a look ahead on your subsequent put up, I will try to get the cling of it!

Customers do not buy products after reading the engaging product descriptions. Rather, they look at the images to check out the quality of the products. Therefore, your product images should be of top quality and should attempt to capture all details of the product.
